In this section you will find reviews of airport travelers, as well as our guide to Kathmandu airport with information on Wi-Fi, cafes, amenities and services …. and yes, even the names of some airport hotels in case you decide that sleeping at the airport is not for you!
To help you plan your trip, here are quick tips that travelers told us during their stay at Kathmandu airport.
The airport consists of two terminals: domestic and international.
This is a chaotic airport, with huge queues, and there are more security checks than most travelers are used to.
Many travelers, airport employees say, are asking for handouts or gifts, or locals who offer their assistance with luggage offer trolleys, although trolleys are free.
The toilets are in terrible condition. Grab your own toilet paper and soap!
The airport is small, with a very small number of objects; restrooms are rarely clean.
Some airport workers ask for “gifts” or bribes, falsely claiming that you have missing or incorrect documents.
The seats with armrests are made of metal, so you should expect to sleep on the floor. Considering the condition of the floors, it is better to take along a sleeping mat or avoid trying to sleep here at all.
Economy class travelers can buy a pass to the airport lounge.
