This is a crowded and chaotic international airport, consisting of one terminal with mediocre amenities and dirty restrooms. We recommend to be patient with this, have your toilet paper and hand sanitizer!
There are more security checks here than most travelers are used to, so we recommend arriving at the airport in advance.
Many travelers, airport staff say, are asking for handouts or gifts.

At the airport, two zones. Landside is a public terminal area located in an unprotected security zone. Airside is a safe area of the terminal that you reach by going through security.
If you are an economy class traveler, you can enter the lounges at Islamabad Airport either by purchasing a guest pass or through the membership program. Visit the separate page for more details.
Rawal Lounge — Location: International Terminal, Airside. Have a shower. Opening hours: open 24 hours. Access to the waiting room: Pay at the door (international flights — US $ 15 per person and domestic flights — 500 rupees per person).
Free Wi-Fi is available at Islamabad Airport in all terminal halls, including international and domestic departures, and the Rawal Lounge.

Baggage carts are available free of charge for arriving and departing passengers.
There are three banks in Concourse Hall, the second National Bank of Pakistan is located in the International Arrival Hall. Opening hours: all banks are open from 9:00 AM — 5:00 PM.

Currency Exchange — PBS Exchange, National Bank, Habib Bank and State Bank Bout can offer foreign currency exchange available on international and domestic terminals. Opening hours: All exchange offices are open 24 hours.
Duty free Shopping — duty free shops are available in international departure and arrival halls. Several other stores can be found in the International Departures Hall and Concourse Hall.
Food and Drinks — Food outlets throughout the airport operate with different schedules. Open 24 hours: airport canteen (next to the parking lots at the mosque) • Dunkin ‘donuts (rest room in the International Departures Hall) • Mr. Cod (international / domestic departures in the Fast Track building) • Pizza Hut (parking in the Fast building Track) • Rawal Restaurant (1st floor) • Sareena Refreshment Counter (Rawal Lounge) • Diner (International and Domestic Waiting Rooms) • Elbow Room (International and Domestic Waiting Rooms) • TR Store (Concourse Hall).
Luggage storage and lockers — not available
Baggage packing for security — 200 rupees per item. Location: Landside for domestic and international departures.
Medical Services — Urgent and emergency medical care is available at the Medical Center, which is located next to the airport’s mosque. You can go there directly or ask for help from the information desk staff who will contact the medical staff for you.
The post office is located in the terminal, near the mosque of the airport, as well as on the BBIAP cargo complex.
Prayer Rooms — Separate men’s and women’s prayer rooms are available. Location: Domestic and International Departures, International Arrivals and Business Lounge Class (Arrivals / Departures) Hours: Open 24 hours.
Shower rooms are available in the CIP Lounge.
