Zurich Airport, also known as Kloten, is located 10 km north of the center of Zurich. It is the largest international airport in Switzerland and in 2015 it accounted for more than 26 million passengers.
Between the airport and the city center there are two types of public transport lines: tram and train. The fastest way to get to the city center. The railway line passes under the airport building, so just follow the signs down the escalators and you will find yourself on the platform. Different regional and city trains, along with two local S-Bahn routes, S2 and S16, pass regularly and send you to the city center in just 10-15 minutes.
If you continue your journey beyond Zurich, there are different railway lines that go “straight” from the airport to other Swiss cities, for example: Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Winterthur, etc. To travel to other cities you need to get to the central station of Zurich and change the train there. The main station can be easily reached by train.
The shuttle bus between the airport and the city center is a direct, non-stop minibus that takes you to the center of Zurich in 30-40 minutes. This minibus is at least once per hour, and the price is 25 francs. The ticket can be bought online. Almost all hotels use a bus service, so you must ask at the front desk for a trip to the airport.
