Pisa Airport, or better known as Galileo Galilei Airport, is located in Pisa, just 1 km from the city center and is the main airport in Tuscany. According to 2015 data, there were about 5 million passengers at the airport.
Since the airport is just one kilometer from the city of Pisa, there are several options to choose from.
Compagnia Pisana Trasporti (CPT) connects the airport and the city center of Pisa every 10 minutes with the RED Lam bus.
On the way to the airport there are four stops: Pisa Central Station, Vittorio Emanuele Square, Riverside, Santa Chiara Hospital. The ticket costs 1.20 euros and is valid for 60 minutes. The bus station is outside the arrival area.
From Pisa’s main railway station, you can reach any place via the Italian railway network. PisaMover connects Pisa Airport daily to the Central Station. The journey time is 5-8 minutes. PisaMover is open from 06:00 to 24:00, the train leaves every 10 minutes. At the central station of Pisa, the bus stop is located near platform 14.
Taxi service is provided by CO.TA.PI (Taxi Pisa Cooperative). The average fee varies from 6.30 to 10.00 euros (an additional 2.55 € on Sundays and public holidays and from 22:00 to 06:00 am).
You can order a private door-to-door transfer that will be waiting for you at the airport and will take you to your destination. Be careful to book a reliable company. We recommend to order a transfer on the Internet.
