Milan Bergamo Airport is located in the center of one of the most industrialized and populated regions of Italy. Over 9 million people can reach the airport within 90 minutes.
There is no route to Bergamo, only to Milan, and it costs 5 € (9 euros for a return ticket); for children up to 4 years old bus ticket is free. Buses leave every half hour, and the journey takes about 60 minutes. The stop is at Cologno Monzese.
NOTE. Tickets must be printed and handed over to the staff prior to travel. Tickets on mobile devices or tablets are not accepted.
The bus to Bergamo Train Station (bus number 1) runs from the Bergamo Airport side to the train station, located on Marconi Square. The bus stops near several hotels, such as The Best Western and San Marco.
The bus travels every 20 minutes, and the station can be reached in 15 minutes. The ticket price is about 2 euros and is valid for 90 minutes. Tickets can be bought at the station, in the newsstand.
There is also the option to buy a three-day ticket if you stay for a longer period.
NOTE. Buses to the airport from Bergamo usually have an image of the aircraft or the word «airport» displayed on the front of the bus.
Although Bergamo Airport does not have a direct train line, the railway station is within easy reach of the airport and takes only 10-15 minutes by bus.
The queues in the summer season can be quite long and you can wait up to thirty minutes. If you want to take a taxi from Bergamo Airport, then you need to ask the price before you go. Taxis from the airport to the center of Bergamo cost about 25-30 euros for 8 km. A taxi to Milan is a 57-kilometer journey and will cost about 80 euros in one direction!
If you are traveling with a large group of people or with children, we recommend booking a transfer to Bergamo Airport.
The cost of a private minivan is about 40-50 euros, depending on the number of passengers.
If you prefer to travel independently and explore the city, then you must rent a car online or do it right on the spot: most car rental companies, such as Goldcar, etc., are located in the airport zone.

- Question: I arrive late at the airport. Will this be a problem for me to get to the city?
A: No, the bus lines are very frequent (every 20 minutes), but if you missed them, you can always call a taxi. Avoid overpaying by booking your taxi in advance.
- Q: I have an early morning flight from the airport, are there any hotels at the airport where I can stay?
A: Of course. There are two hotels in the airport area. Directly through the airport you have the NH Orio al Serio and 57ResHotel Orio al Serio, and both of them offer free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and free parking.
- Question: I would like to spend one day in Bergamo between flights. Is it possible
A: Yes, of course. The best way to do this is to take a bus (line number 1), which takes you directly from the airport to the city center, and this is the most convenient way of transportation. If you do not want to carry all your luggage with you all day, just leave it in the luggage compartment at the airport for the price of 3–5 euros, depending on weight. The service is located in the arrival area.
- Question: I continue my journey outside Bergamo. Are there any direct lines from the airport to other cities?
A: The only direct line from the airport to other cities — to Milan, by bus. However, you can visit other cities, such as Venice, Florence or Rome, leaving the railway station.
- Q: Can I exchange money at the airport?
A: Yes, at the airport there are several exchange offices and ATMs working around the clock and seven days a week, but it is better to exchange money before the trip and have the euro with you, since the rate will be much higher in place and no currency other than the euro will be accepted.
