To help you plan your arrival / transfer, we have compiled a brief guide based on feedback from travelers who have visited Hanoi Airport.
Two terminals — the old T1 for domestic flights with a dedicated bus station. T2 is new, modern and well equipped for international flights. You cannot move between T1 and T2 if you do not have a visa.
Flights depart around the clock, so there are always tourists who stay overnight.
Travelers report mixed reviews about airport employees, some have reported cases of extortion.
Restaurants close at 11pm.
WiFi is available, but there are complaints about speed and connectivity. See WiFi in the airport manual below.
T2 is a place to sleep, with a modern layout and amenities.
There is a seating area in Terminal 2 with cushioned chairs, suitable for lying down and relaxing.
Many chairs, although most have armrests.
T1, unfortunately, does not welcome guests, at night or at any time — the halls are dirty and inconvenient.
For uninterrupted sleep, there are modules for sleeping at the airport and several hotels near the airport that provide airport transfers and back. See airport hotels in the airport guide below for more information.
Economy class travelers can purchase a pass to several airport lounges (with shower cabins). See the airport lounge in the airport manual below for details on location and opening times.
Beware of taxi drivers. If you are negotiating a cost, be sure to check out the course, which includes «fees», so you will not have surprises at the end of the trip.
