I had to wrap my head in a T-shirt so the mosquitoes wouldn’t get me. — burdstheword
To help you plan your arrival / transfer, we have compiled a brief guide based on the feedback from travelers who have visited Denpasar Airport.
This small airport is divided into two terminals: the new, L-shaped International Terminal, and the old, domestic terminal next to the new one. Between them about 10 minutes walk.
Expect more security control than usual. Security agents may be a little aggressive.
A weak air conditioner can make your waiting uncomfortable. Clothing remains slightly cool.
It seems that one cafe in the International Terminal is open 24 hours.
Good cheap meals can be found in a cafe just a 10-minute walk from the internal terminal, in the corridor leading to the parking lot.
Free WiFi access is available. See WiFi in the airport manual below.
This small airport is surprisingly bed-friendly. Passengers have no problems with airport staff to stay overnight. The internal terminal closes at night, so go to the International Terminal.
A lot of seating and space to lie down — a small food court where most of the tourists are located.
At the International Terminal, buy something at the Bintang cafe and you may be lucky enough to sit on their couches, like other travelers.
There are not many night flights, so there should be enough space for you to lie down and sleep. It is usually quiet at night.
Some travelers mention mosquitoes, so be prepared.
For uninterrupted sleep, several hotels are located in or near the airport; Ask about airport transfer. See airport hotels in the airport manual below.
Economy class passengers can buy a ticket and relax in several airport lounges; Showers are available in most of them. See the airport lounge in the airport manual below for details on location and prices.
