What does the holiday Red Hill
Easter week is a time filled with joy for all Orthodox people. Special importance is attached to the Sunday of Bright Week, popularly called the Red Hill.
The Red Hill festival has many folk traditions that have been honored since ancient times. This day is important for those who honor folk customs and holidays. Our ancestors called the Red Hill a wedding day, because it was on this day after a long break that weddings could be played.
In folk signs about this holiday says: «Whoever marries the Red Hill, he will live a century, but he will not divorce». Both women and men poured well water on this day: it was believed that it gives beauty, preserves youth and strength.
Young people celebrated the Red Hill in a big way: the songs did not subside until the evening, the boys and girls played round dances, and in the evening they lit bright fires and continued the fun. This tradition is preserved in our time. On the last Sunday of Easter week it is accepted by a big company to get out into nature, dance, sing and have fun at your pleasure.
It is believed that the one who is the first of the whole family to meet the dawn on the Red Hill will soon be in for great happiness. To fulfill the cherished desire, the Sun must be asked to light the road to happiness and be ready to go on a journey any minute. For this reason, any trip to the Red Hill is extremely popular: if you are given such an opportunity, you should not refuse.
In the temples on this day held the Easter service and a festive procession. Also from this day on, weddings are allowed: if the internal routine of the church provides for the sacrament of weddings on Sundays, then there is no better day for this event.
In all church parishes for the last time, everyone can climb the bell tower and ring the bells, calling for happiness and positive changes in their lives. The ringing of the bell on the Red Hill is a sure sign of fast happy changes and great joy.
The main tradition of the final day of Easter week is fun and socializing with friends and relatives. We wish you a happy holiday and only a good mood. Smile often and don’t forget to press buttons and
