Petrov Post: food calendar
Start date Petrova fasting — June 8. Post ends July 12. This post is also called apostolic and is dedicated to Peter and Paul, the disciples of Jesus Christ.
The emergence of Petrova fasting associated with the erection of temples to the holy apostles Peter and Paul in Rome.
Peter was one of the most devoted disciples of Christ, but he committed a great sin — he denied his faith three times after the betrayal of Judas. After he repented and bitterly worried about what he did. For the purity of tears and repentance, God forgave him and again called him an apostle.
On the day of the Holy Trinity, Peter was doomed to faith at least five thousand people, and after the holiday three thousand more.
Paul, before his baptism, was a fierce persecutor of the apostles. But when the Divine light appeared to him, he became blind and accepted faith. Like Peter, all his life he carried the word of God.
