Peter and Paul’s Day July 12th
The holy apostles Peter and Paul are revered by Orthodox Christians around the world. July 12, prayers to the apostles have great power and can completely change your life for the better.
The apostles Peter and Paul are an example of zealous service to the Lord and true, unshakable faith in Him. The path of the saints to faith was thorny, but with their whole lives they proved the sincerity of their love for God.
Peter was born into a fisherman’s family and devoted most of his youth to his father’s work. When the future apostle met Jesus Christ and heard about His teaching, he quickly followed Him and soon became the beloved disciple of the Lord. It was to him that the Savior instructed to keep the keys to the gates of Paradise and “knit the fates” of people on earth and in the Kingdom of Heaven.
When the Lord was captured and sentenced to death, Peter, fearing persecution, denied Him three times. Realizing what he had done, the apostle begged the Savior for forgiveness, and, having received it, until the end of his life he zealously carried the teachings of God.
The Apostle Paul initially participated in the persecution of Christians and fiercely denied the Savior’s teachings. The young man had an excellent education and had an innate talent for oratory.
One day, on the way to the city of Damascus, he heard the voice of the Lord from heaven and believed in salvation. Upon coming to Damascus, Paul was baptized and has since used his eloquence to glorify the acts of the Lord.
The life of Peter and Paul shows how inscrutable the ways of the Lord are, and how two people who have nothing to do with faith can see and see their destiny once and for all.
The day of commemoration of the holy apostles is scheduled for July 12. This day ends a short, but extremely important post for any Christian Petrov. In all the churches there is a festive liturgy and a procession, the life of the apostles and laudatory canons are read.
On this day, prayers for the forgiveness of sins can remove the heavy burden from your soul and help you find the way to God’s grace. We wish you a bright holiday and peace of mind. Be happy and do not forget to press the buttons and
