I found the basic recipe for this cookie more than 30 years ago in the book of R.P. Kengis «Homemade Cakes, Pastries, Cookies, Gingerbread, Pies» (1959 edition), which belonged to my mother.
I immediately liked it because of the simplicity of its preparation and the original form, as well as the romantic name — “Lovers”.
I hope that the taste and the unusual form of such cookies — soft-crumbly, with a light aroma and taste of cocoa, with small pieces of nuts, will not leave indifferent you and your loved ones. P.S.
Such cookies are also good because they can be stored for a long time, so you can cook them even a few days before serving.
- eggs — 1 medium (weighing about 65-70 grams)
- granulated sugar — 100 gr.
- butter — 150 gr.
- salt — pinch
- baking powder for dough — 1 tsp without slide
- wheat flour — 280 gr.
- vanilla sugar — 1 teaspoon with a medium slide
- cocoa powder — 2 tsp with an average hill (about 6 gr.)
- peeled dark skin of almond kernels — 8-10 pcs. or halved walnuts — 3-4 pcs.
The process of making cookies can be «split» for two days, if you do not have the opportunity to deal with them immediately from beginning to end.
To do this, each part of the resulting dough (see p. 6 of the recipe) must be wrapped in plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator overnight.
The next day, just let the pieces warm up at room temperature, removing the film from them, for about 30-40 minutes, so that they become elastic again, and then bake as described in the recipe.

Just spelled cookies for your recipe. Very tasty!) I did everything according to the recipe, there was enough flour (it’s very strange that Tata didn’t have enough flour.) The dough turned out to be soft and didn’t bother with your hands, even you don’t sprinkle flour on the table. Tata, it’s a pity that you didn’t succeed.
Extremely surprised, because recipe performed repeatedly, the ingredients were verified. Did you follow the cooking process completely? Did an egg of the specified size be used (was it hung before cooking?), Did you use softened (not melted!) Butter?
And I dare to assure you that the dough is sandy, pleasantly crumbly. At least, I get exactly this on the above technology. P.S.
