Lingonberry sauce (see photo) is one of the most popular dressings for dishes in many countries around the world. For the first time such a seasoning made in Sweden, hence its second name «Swedish sauce». Such a product is seasoned with most meat and fish products, and also used as a salad dressing.

The sauce has a rich aroma, it tastes sweet and sour with a slight bitterness. This is due to the fact that the lingonberry itself has a bitter taste, so not everyone can eat it fresh. However, the nutrients in the berry are stored in the cranberry sauce. Basically, they add such a dressing just before serving the dish.

No cooking or cooking skills are required to make the sauce. It is enough to follow the step-by-step recipe — and everything will work out.. Usually fresh lingonberries are cooked until softened. Then the berries are twisted to a state of mashed potatoes. After add the ingredients that are necessary to create a dressing (sugar, honey, you can vinegar of any kind, spicy spices). For a more savory taste, some cooks use alcoholic beverages (wine, brandy).
