There are several specific types of baguette that have their own names. Here are the most popular ones:

  • round;
  • in a rustic way;

It is believed that a real baguette should weigh exactly two hundred grams, but sometimes errors are allowed.

Ingredients such as garlic, greens, eggs, cheese, ham, chicken, pate, butter, herring, as well as many others are used most often for the filling. The airy structure of the baguette goes well with almost any product you take for the filling, so you can experiment.

Properly prepare a delicious baguette at home is easy if you know the secrets of cooking it. The main ingredients for its preparation are wheat flour, milk, salt, water, dry yeast, eggs, butter and brown sugar. For sprinkling, you can use sesame or lightly tart baguette with flour.

The baking process is very simple. It is necessary to mix all the ingredients, knead the dough thoroughly so that it turns out to be viscous and smooth and smooth. It must be sent for one hour in a warm place, so that the yeast begins to «play.» After that, divide the dough into two equal parts, each of which should be rolled out into identical squares. Melt the butter and grease the dough with it, then folding and removing the mass in the refrigerator for twenty minutes. Then you need to get the dough, roll it out again and grease again with melted butter.

After this, twist the dough into a thin roll, and make characteristic cuts on top. If desired, sprinkle sesame baguette and be sure to grease with a mixture of beaten egg and milk. Leave the dough to soak for half an hour, then lay it on parchment paper and send it to the oven, preheated to a temperature of 180 degrees.
